As the winter chill sets in, the energy and engagement at NYHA shows no signs of slowing down.
November has been a month of hands on learning, community spirit, and important life lessons.
Here’s what we’ve been up to:
Black Country Living Museum Trip
We took a step back in time this month with a visit to the Black Country Living Museum.
From traditional shops and historic homes to coal mines and street scenes, our learners got a powerful insight into what life was like in the past. It helped them appreciate how far we’ve come, and how different their own opportunities are today.
Learning through real experiences like this builds not only knowledge but perspective.
Children in Need – Pyjama Day!
We got cosy for a cause by celebrating Children in Need with a Pyjama Day!
There was laughter, warmth, and a great atmosphere, all while supporting an important national charity.
Nail Art Creativity Continues
The brilliant work coming out of our nail art sessions continues to impress us all.
With the guidance of our Beauty Specialist Emma, students are developing technical skills and artistic flair, and the results are as bold as they are beautiful!
Fitness for Everyone – Gym & Badminton
This month, we explored even more ways to stay active, including badminton, which has been a hit with learners who aren’t quite ready for the gym just yet.
At NYHA, we believe it doesn’t matter how you move, just that you do. Physical activity in any form supports mental well-being, confidence, and healthy habits.
Street Doctors - Real Life Skills That Save Lives
We also welcomed Street Doctors, who delivered a powerful and practical session on how to stay safe in public and what to do in emergency situations.
Our young people learned about basic first aid, how to help someone in danger, and how to act calmly under pressure.
These are real world skills that could save a life, and for our learners, who are navigating complex communities, it’s an essential part of their education.
Thank you to our staff, students, and families for another month of progress and purpose.
From history to health and everything in between, we’re proud of how far our learners are coming, and excited for what’s ahead.
