Welcome to 2025! We’ve hit the ground running this term, and January has been packed with progress, positive changes, and some fantastic achievements. Here’s a roundup of what’s been happening at New You Hair Academy:

Outstanding Attendance

Our attendance continues to impress, reaching an incredible 93.8% this month! This consistency is a testament to the commitment of our learners and the support from families.

Thank you for playing such an important role in maintaining this success.

Special shout out to 3 students in this months newsletter:

Leah Inger - from 17% to 94.4% !!

Jamelia Little - from 18.9% to 95.4% !! Leila Breffitt - on 100% attendance !!

Academic Progress

We’ve seen great progress in our hair and beauty courses as learners continue to develop their skills and knowledge. Their dedication is shining through in both practical work and theory sessions.

Our learners are making strong progress in Functional Skills (FS), and we’re gearing up for mock exams in February. This will be a great opportunity for students to showcase their learning and prepare for future assessments.

Classdojo Introduction

We’ve officially introduced ClassDojo, and we’re thrilled with the engagement so far. Thank you for responding and interacting with our posts—we love sharing updates with you! Stay tuned, as we’ll soon be expanding our use of this platform to keep communication even more seamless.

CGL impact

Our ongoing partnership with CGL continues to have a positive impact on our learners. This month’s session on sexual exploitation was particularly informative, providing valuable knowledge and sparking meaningful discussions among students.

Promoting a Love for Reading

As part of our push to encourage reading, we’re planning a trip to the library, where each student will have the chance to select a book to take home. We believe that fostering a love for reading is key to lifelong learning, and we’re excited to support this journey.

Nottingham City Council Audit

We welcomed a full audit from Nottingham City Council, an event we always look forward to as it allows us to showcase the hard work happening across NYHA. We’re proud to say we passed with flying colours, and we’ll be sharing the report with parents soon.

Personal Development Audit

In addition to our Nottingham City Council audit, we also had a Personal Development (PD) audit conducted by Raleigh Education Trust.

We’re proud to share that they were really pleased with our offering and observed plenty of evidence showcasing how we at NYHA are actively supporting the personal development of all our students. It’s fantastic to see our efforts recognised, and we’ll continue to build on this success!

Website Update

Our website has been updated to include a dedicated safeguarding information page. Please take a moment to check it out and stay informed about the steps we’re taking to keep our learners safe.

As we move into February, we’re excited to build on this momentum.

Thank you for being part of the NYHA community and for your continued support.
