February has been another fantastic month at NYHA, packed with achievement, creativity, and some well deserved celebrations.
After a busy exam period, it’s been wonderful to see our learners continue to thrive both academically and vocationally.
Functional Skills Exams – A Huge Well Done
First and foremost, a massive congratulations to all of our students for the effort, resilience, and maturity they showed throughout their Functional Skills exams.
Exams can be stressful, but our learners approached them with determination and professionalism. We are incredibly proud of every single one of them.
Now that the mocks are behind us, we can take a breath, enjoy some fun, and begin preparing for the real exams later in the year.
Valentine’s Hair & Beauty Creations
Love was definitely in the air this month as our students created some stunning Valentine’s themed hair and beauty designs.
From creative hairstyles to beautiful nail work, the students demonstrated fantastic imagination, patience, and technical skill.
The results were truly impressive and showcased just how far they have come.
Eyebrow Mapping – Goodbye 90's Brows!
Our beauty students have been learning the art of eyebrow mapping, mastering the techniques needed to create perfectly balanced brows.
Safe to say, over-plucked 90s eyebrows are officially a thing of the past!
The students have shown great attention to detail and are becoming increasingly confident in their beauty skills.
College Offers Secured!
We are thrilled to announce that Lani and Amelia have both secured conditional college offers.
This is a huge milestone, and both students are incredibly excited about their next steps after Year 11.
It is always rewarding to see our young people begin to realise their potential and look forward to a bright future.
Cinema and Bowling Celebration
After weeks of hard work and exams, we celebrated with a trip to the cinema and bowling.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the chance to relax, have fun, and spend quality time together outside the classroom.
Roller Techniques and Live Models
In hairdressing, we revisited roller techniques and continued to build practical confidence.
We were also delighted to welcome parents into the salon as live models.
This is always a wonderful opportunity for families to become directly involved in their child’s education while giving students invaluable hands-on experience.
World Book Day
We celebrated World Book Day in true NYHA style with a pyjama day and students dressing as their favourite book characters.
This was a fantastic way to promote our love of reading and remind everyone that books can transport us anywhere.
February has been a brilliant month, balancing academic achievement with creativity, enrichment, and celebration.
